2021 - 2022 President, DC Black MBA Association
On January 15, 2019 amidst some very fine company including regular and lifetime members of the DC Chapter, my new Board Members and Past Presidents of the Chapter: Amy Billingsley, Gregory Harrod, Oscar Mardis, John James II, Candice Charles and Erica Roberts - I was honored to be sworn in as the next President of the National Black MBA Association - Washington, DC Chapter. My Board Members also took the oath, along with members of the audience, who pledged their support for the organization.
I pledged to carry out the mission and values of the organization, while focusing on my platform of Money, Membership and Memories. I announced my theme for my term which is "Members That Are Ready!" My Board and I will ensure that we execute an agenda for the Organization focused on ensuring the our members are adequately prepared for the successes and challenges that will come their way.
I look forward to a very successful term with the support of all of the members of the Association. I hope to see you out at some (or all) of our upcoming events!

MORE ABOUT LEMAR
Dr. Lemar T. White has achieved amazing results in his field and in the community. Lemar is recognized as an expert in the field of anti-bribery/anti-corruption, and is regularly called upon to speak at conferences, both in the US and Internationally. A native of the island of Barbados, Lemar received the Urban League for Bergen County Young Professionals (ULBCYP) Empowerment Award in 2016 for his outstanding work in the compliance field and also for his tireless efforts in education and promoting diversity. In 2018, he also received the diversity award from City & State NY for outstanding leadership in advancing diversity in the community, the President’s Award from the NBMBAA-DC Chapter for outstanding service to the Chapter and to the community, and the Diversity Award from Google.
Lemar served as the Membership Chair of the NBMBAA-DC Chapter from July 2017 to July 2018 where he helped to increase social events in the organization. Additionally, while serving as Membership Chair, Chapter membership grew over 25%. Given his outstanding contributions to the Chapter in his role as Membership Chair, Lemar was appointed to serve as the Vice President of Administration, by President Erica Roberts, in July 2018.
Lemar currently works for Google in the Legal Department and also teaches as an adjunct professor. He earned a Doctor of Education degree from Northeastern University, holds two Master of Science degrees from Wilmington University, an MBA from Texas A&M University- Commerce, and has a Bachelor of Accounting from Florida International University. He has broad and significant board experience serving/having served on the Board of Directors for Washington Yu Ying Public Charter School, the Florida International University Alumni Association Board of Directors, and Reach Credit Union.
Lemar’s vision for his Presidency focuses on:
Executing educational and investment opportunities for members to learn how to build and move from learning to actually building economic wealth for themselves and their families;
Growing the chapter’s partnerships and funding to bring increased, quality programming to Chapter members.
An increase in quality, networking opportunities consistently throughout the year;
Events throughout the DMV (and not just in DC). Also, events on more convenient days and at more convenient times;
More complimentary professional development opportunities and social programming equal to the value of membership (and at no cost to members).
Greater focus on lifestyle to include international travel, together as an organization;
Sporting events such as tennis clinics, golf outings, etc.;
Family events to involve chapter members’ families in the organization (for example: family picnics).
